final round?

final round of interviews today.

now i understand why interviewers start of by saying- so tell me about yourself. basically, the interviewer does not want to take the effort (in my case, really doesn't have the time to re-read) to read the resume that you spend hours laboring over and wants you to summarize in concise but interesting sound bites.

today's interviews were fine. both arrived just a couple minutes early. good. on time but not so early i feel obliged to interview them early.

met with the woman for a good half hour. seemed to have a good head on her shoulders, take action type of person, firm, capable, etc.

now the man. . .oh jeez. . .granted, i didn't get a lot of sleep last night, but i really had to supress my yawns!!! i asked him to tell me a "little about himself".. this turned into a20 minute speech about his previoius experience.. i suppose i should give him some credit for being thorough, but pul-ease, don't bore me!!! every answer he gave was so long winded i almost forgotwhat the question was!!!

after that interview, i narrowed it down to my top three. hopefully bigB will do callbacks tue and wed and we'll have someone hired by wed. ideally, i can have someone in to train on friday, though it's looking more like monday or tues of next week... .
